In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Integrated Multi-view 3D Image Capture and Motion Parallax 3D Display System
We propose an integrated 3D image capture and display system using a transversely moving camera, regular 2D display screen and user tracking that can facilitate the multi-view capture of a real scene or object and display the captured perspective views ...

Direct growth of 2D and 3D graphene nano-structures over large glass substrates by tuning a sacrificial Cu-template layer [PDF]
We demonstrate direct growth of two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) graphene structures on glass substrates. By starting from catalytic copper nanoparticles of different densities and using chemical vapour deposition (CVD) techniques ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Recent Advances in Planar Optics-Based Glasses-Free 3D Displays
Glasses-free three-dimensional (3D) displays are one of the technologies that will redefine human-computer interfaces. However, many geometric optics-based 3D displays suffer from a limited field of view (FOV), severe resolution degradation, and visual ...
