Monitoring Receptor Clustering by Aggregation‐Induced Emission

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
Receptor clustering induced by molecular recognition: AIE‐functionalized bisphosphonate receptors are embedded in a lipid bilayer. Upon addition of a cationic messenger, they undergo dimerization and send out a fluorescence signal. This study introduces a simple signal transduction system that mimics the receptor tyrosine kinase mechanism by employing ...

Thiocarbamoylimidates as Precursors of New 5‐Amino‐1,2,4‐Triazole and Oxadiazole Derivatives In Silico Prediction of Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Excretion Parameters

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
1,2,4‐triazole and oxadiazole motifs are synthesized from thiocarbamoylimidates precursors, under mild conditions (40 °C) in the environmentally friendly water/ethanol reaction medium. The reaction is highly versatile and allows for the introduction of a wide variety of functional groups.

Tailoring Polymeric Binder of Permselective Gas Diffusion Electrode for Low‐Concentration CO2 Electrolysis

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
Selective CO2 permeation through a metal‐organic framework–polymer membrane boosts CO partial current density in lean flue gas electrolysis. Electrochemical CO2 reduction (eCO2R) offers a promising route to convert industrial CO2 emissions into value‐added chemicals.

Surveying the Homogeneity of a Molecular Electrocatalyst Embedded in a Metal‐Organic Framework Using Operando Characterization

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
A detailed study of the homogeneity changes exhibited by a molecular Cu catalyst embedded in a MOF during the oxygen reduction reaction. Operando X‐ray absorption spectroscopy reveals a transformation from a molecular Cu2+ catalyst to Cu0 clusters <2 nm, emphasizing the risk of attributing high catalytic performance to molecular catalysts that have ...

Electrochemical CO2 Capture, Release, and Reduction by a Benzothiadiazole Molecule with Multiple Redox States

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
Upon reduction, the molecule 2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole‐4,7‐dicarbonitrile (BTDN) can react and capture CO2 forming a variety of adducts. Electrochemistry, spectroelectrochemistry, and density functional theory calculations are employed to shine light into the nature of these adducts.
