Serum 5′-Nucleotidase as a Novel Predictor of Adverse Clinical Outcomes after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease [PDF]

open access: yesReviews in Cardiovascular Medicine
Background: The correlation between 5′-Nucleotidase (5′-NT) and the clinical outcomes in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is not clear. This study aims to clarify this relationship.

Exacerbation of Allergic Airway Inflammation in Mice Lacking ECTO-5′-Nucleotidase (CD73) [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
The airways are a target tissue of type I allergies and atopy is the main etiological factor of bronchial asthma. A predisposition to allergy and individual response to allergens are dependent upon environmental and host factors.

Contemporary notions on the role of 5'-nucleotidase in pregnancy

open access: yesRussian Open Medical Journal, 2022
The review aimed at pooling together available information on 5'-nucleotidase – an enzyme hydrolyzing ribo- and deoxyribonucleoside-5'-monophosphates. The most important product of 5'-nucleotidase activity is adenosine.

Expression of bovine cytosolic 5'-nucleotidase (cN-II) in yeast: nucleotide pools disturbance and its consequences on growth and homologous recombination. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Cytosolic 5'-nucleotidase II is a widespread IMP hydrolyzing enzyme, essential for cell vitality, whose role in nucleotide metabolism and cell function is still to be exactly determined.

Distribution of ecto 5′-nucleotidase on Mycoplasma species associated with arthritis [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 2000
The enzyme ecto 5'-nucleotidase (5'N) was found to be active on 8/14 strains of Mycoplasma fermentans, K(m) (+/-S.D.) 3.8+/-2.8 microM 5'-AMP, and on the type strain of Mycoplasma pulmonis, K(m) 0.63 microM 5'-AMP. The six M. fermentans strains lacking 5'N activity were related by restriction fragment length polymorphism typing.

Purification and some properties of an extracellular halophilic 5′-nucleotidase from a moderate halophile,Micrococcus varianssubsp.halophilus [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 1984
An extracellular 5′-nucleotidase produced by a moderate halophile, Micrococcus varians subsp. halophilus was partially purified from the culture filtrate by ethanol precipitation and Sepharose 4B hydrophobic chromatography. The 5′-nucleotidase was a novel halophilic enzyme, requiring 2 M NaCl or 2.5 M KCl and 0.1 mM Co2+ or 0.1 mM Mn2+ for maximal ...

AIF1+CSF1R+ MSCs, induced by TNF‐α, act to generate an inflammatory microenvironment and promote hepatocarcinogenesis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Mesenchymal stem cells subset, educated by TNF‐α, are involved to generate inflammatory microenvironment and promote hepatocarcinogenesis Abstract Background and Aims Increasing evidence suggests that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) home to injured local tissues and the tumor microenvironment in the liver.

Comparative Study of 5’- Nucleotidase Test in Various Liver Diseases [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2016
Introduction: The liver regulates many important metabolic functions. The 5’-nucleotidase activity is increased in obstructive jaundice, parenchymal liver disease, and hepatic metastases. Aim: This study was conducted to assess the serum levels of 5’-

Effects of metronidazole and tinidazole on NTPDase1 and ecto-5′-nucleotidase from intact cells ofTrichomonas vaginalis [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 2003
Here we report the effects of metronidazole and tinidazole on NTPDase1 and ecto-5'-nucleotidase from intact cells of Trichomonas vaginalis. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP) hydrolysis was 5- to 7-fold higher for the fresh clinical strain, when compared with the ATCC (American Type Culture Collection) strain.
