Biological function of 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) and its application in animals production
5-ALA is a precursor substance of tetrapyrrole biomolecule synthase, which is involved in the synthesis of porphyrins and is closely related to the synthesis of heme and the absorption and utilization of iron in animals, and has the effect of improving ...

Fluorescence Diagnosis of Metastatic Lymph Nodes Using 5-Aminolevulinic Acid (5-ALA) in a Mouse Model of Colon Cancer [PDF]
Lymph node metastasis is one of the most critical prognostic factors in patients with colorectal cancer. Although regional lymph nodes should be surgically resected and pathologically examined, techniques for the intraoperative diagnosis of lymph node metastasis remain to be well established.

5-Aminolevulinic acid synthase: mechanism, mutations and medicine
5-Aminolevulinic acid synthase (ALAS), the first enzyme of the heme biosynthesis pathway, catalyses the pyridoxal 5'-phosphate-dependent condensation between glycine and succinyl-CoA to yield 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-amino-4-oxopentanoate).

Click Bioconjugation of Aza‐BODIPY Fluorophores to LfcinB Peptides for Improved Biocompatibility
Click bioconjugation attaches NIR aza‐BODIPY fluorophores to LfcinB‐derived anticancer peptides via CuAAC and thiol‐maleimide chemistry. Conjugates exhibit improved predicted solubility while retaining strong NIR absorption (703–730 nm). Peptide‐aza‐BODIPY conjugates induce apoptotic morphology in HeLa cancer cells.
