Protectin D1 and maresin 1 attenuate airway hyperreactivity induced by IL‐13 in human isolated small bronchi

Background and Purpose Interleukin (IL)‐13 is implicated in airway hyperreactivity (AHR), a key feature of asthma. We explored the potential anti‐AHR activity of selected specialised pro‐resolving mediators (SPMs) in IL‐13‐induced AHR models, using human bronchial smooth muscle cells (BSMCs) and human isolated bronchi.

Cancer‐Specific Antihuman Podoplanin Antibody chLpMab‐2f Exerts Antitumor Effects Against Pleural Mesothelioma

Cancer‐specific antihuman podoplanin antibody chLpMab‐2f exerted antibody‐dependent cellular cytotoxicity and complement‐dependent cytotoxicity against pleural mesothelioma (PM) cell lines. Additionally, chLpMab‐2f inhibited tumor progression in mice with subcutaneously and intrathoracically transplanted human PM cells.

Ageing‐Dependent Thyroid Hormone Receptor α Reduction Activates IP3R1‐Meditated Ca2+ Transfer in MAM and Exacerbates Skeletal Muscle Atrophy in Mice

During skeletal muscle ageing, down‐regulation of TRα expression activates IP3R1 transcriptional expression, promotes MAM calcium transport, triggers mitochondrial calcium overload and apoptosis, leading to skeletal muscle atrophy. Restoring TRα expression can improve IP3R1‐mediated mitochondrial calcium overload and apoptosis in ageing skeletal muscle
