Stability of [6]-gingerol and [6]-shogaol in simulated gastric and intestinal fluids
Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2007The degradation kinetics of [6]-gingerol and [6]-shogaol were investigated in simulated gastric (pH 1) and intestinal (pH 7.4) fluids at 37 degrees C. Degradation products were quantitatively determined by HPLC (Lichrospher 60 RP select B column, 5 microm, 125 mm x 4 mm; mobile phase: methanol-water-acetic acid (60:39:1 v/v); flow rate: 0.6 ml/min ...

Digestive functions regulated by 6-shogaol towards stomach and small intestine
2017 IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (BIBM), 2017Ginger is a well-known traditional Chinese medicine which has been identified with positive digestive function regulations e.g. vomit prevention and warming interior. 6-shogaol is one of ginger's major bioactive constituents. In this study, digestive functions regulated by 6-shogaol towards stomach and small intestine were investigated.

Antifungal and anti‐biofilm effects of 6‐shogaol againstCandida auris
Journal of Applied Microbiology, 2020This study aimed to assess the antifungal and anti-biofilm effects of 6-shogaol against Candida auris using in vitro phenotypic and genotypic analyses. Our results showed that 6-shogaol exhibited antifungal as well as anti-biofilm activity by inhibiting biofilm formation and eradicating the preformed biofilms of C. auris.

Pharmacokinetics of [6]-shogaol, a pungent ingredient of Zingiber officinale Roscoe (Part I)
Journal of Natural Medicines, 2010To investigate the pharmacokinetics of [6]-shogaol, a pungent ingredient of Zingiber officinale Roscoe, the pharmacokinetic parameters were determined by using (14)C-[6]-shogaol (labeled compound) and [6]-shogaol (non-labeled compound). When the labeled compound was orally administered to rats, the maximum plasma concentration (C (max)) and the area ...

Synthesis, evaluation, and metabolism of novel [6]-shogaol derivatives as potent Nrf2 activators
Free Radical Biology and Medicine, 2016Oxidative stress is a central component of many chronic diseases. The Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Keap1)-nuclear factor erythroid 2 p45-related factor 2 (Nrf2) system is a major regulatory pathway of cytoprotective genes against oxidative and electrophilic stress.

Formation of 6-Shogaol of Ginger Oil Under Different Drying Conditions
Drying Technology, 2011Ginger (Zingiber officinalis, Roscoe) is a common ingredient in various foods and beverages. It contains potent anti-inflammatory agents and oleoresin, in which 6-gingerol and 6-shogaol are major active compounds. Studies show that 6-shogaol has stronger anti-inflammatory effects.

From Kitchen Spice to Neuroprotector: The Role of 6-Shogaol in Parkinson’s Disease Management
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry6-Shogaol (6S), the major bioactive component of ginger, exhibits diverse pharmacological properties. This study investigated the therapeutic potential of 6S against α-synuclein (α-Syn), a key pathological marker in Parkinson's disease (PD), using an in vivo methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-induced PD mouse model and an in vitro ...

Role of 6-Shogaol Against Ovarian Torsion Detorsion-InducedReproductive Organ Damage
20206-Shogaol was examined on ovarian torsion detorsion (T/D) rat model to find out the potential beneficial results exist or not. 4 groups were composed to establish the experimental step. Sprague-Dawley female rats were used in the experiment. Each group included 8 rats and 32 rats were examined totally.
