Spin dependent transport in organic light-emitting diodes

open access: yes, 2005
Electrically Detected Magnetic Resonance (EDMR) was used to study a series of multilayer organic devices based on aluminum (III) 8-hydroxyquinoline. These devices were designed to identify the micoscopic origin of different spin dependent process, i.e ...

Engineering Spontaneous Orientation Polarization in Blends of Polar Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 2, 14 January 2026.
Spontaneous orientation polarization (SOP) in organic semiconductor thin films can be modulated through molecular blending. A nonpolar dopant disrupts anti‐parallel dipole alignment in a polar host, promoting enhanced dipole orientation. Meanwhile, polar‐polar blends can retain their original dipole alignment, resulting in a linear GSP slope trend ...

Synthesis and Optical Characterization of Mixed Ligands Beryllium Complexes for Display Device Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optics, 2015
Synthesis and photoluminescent behaviour of mixed ligand based beryllium complexes with 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)benzoxazole (HPB) and 5-chloro-8-hydroxyquinoline (Clq) or 5,7-dichloro-8-hydroxyquinoline (Cl2q) or 2-methyl-8-hydroxyquinoline (Meq) or 8 ...

Rapid Determination of Association Constants using Routine Plate Reader Measurements

open access: yesAnalysis &Sensing, Volume 6, Issue 1, January 2026.
A high‐throughput plate reader method enables rapid, accurate determination of host–guest binding constants and limits of detection using standard laboratory equipment. The approach is validated across diverse systems and supports machine learning regression, offering a robust analytical tool for supramolecular sensing and quantitative analysis. Though

Impact of copper and iron binding properties on the anticancer activity of 8-hydroxyquinoline derived Mannich bases. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The anticancer activity of 8-hydroxyquinolines relies on complex formation with redox active copper and iron ions. Here we employ UV-visible spectrophotometry and EPR spectroscopy to compare proton dissociation and complex formation processes of the ...

Identification and Validation of Compounds Selectively Killing Resistant Cancer: Delineating Cell Line-Specific Effects from P-Glycoprotein-Induced Toxicity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Despite significant progress, resistance to chemotherapy is still the main reason why cancer remains a deadly disease. An attractive strategy is to target the collateral sensitivity of otherwise multidrug resistant (MDR) cancer.

Activity Profiling of Nitro‐Substituted Di(Hetero)Aryl 1,3,4‐ and 1,2,4‐Oxadiazoles: Antimicrobial, Cholinesterase Inhibition and Antioxidant Potential

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 359, Issue 1, January 2026.
Novel nitro‐substituted diaryl 1,3,4‐ and 1,2,4‐oxadiazoles were synthesised via molecular hybridisation of bioactive heterocycles. Selected derivatives exhibited potent antimicrobial activity, including against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Staphylococcus aureus, and cholinesterase inhibitory activity, with promising selectivity.

5-ACETYL-8-HYDROXYQUINOLINE AND 5-FORMYL-8- HYDROXYQUINOLINE: CHELATING AGENTS FOR COMPLEXOMETRIC TITRATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesPeriódico Tchê Química, 2019
Metal–organic ligand complexes are essential to many technological developments from protein supramolecular assemblies to solvent extraction, complexometric titrations, and environmental remediation. We studied the chelating and acid-base properties in ethanol of two derivatives of 8-hydroxyquinoline (Q), 5-acetyl-8-hydroxyquinoline (A) and 5-formyl-8-

Decoding Urease Inhibition: A Comprehensive Review of Inhibitor Scaffolds

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 2, January 2026.
Representative functional groups known for urease inhibition are reviewed within diverse scaffolds using structure–activity analyses to identify features associated with high inhibitory activity. Urease is a metalloenzyme produced by a wide range of organisms and plays a critical role in nitrogen microbial metabolism by catalyzing the hydrolysis of ...
