Der katalytische Zyklus der Nukleotid-bindenden Domäne des ABC-Transporters HlyB [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Nucleotide-binding domains (NBDs), roughly 27 kDa in size, are conservative components of the large family of ABC (ATP-binding cassette) transporters, which includes importers, exporters, and receptors.

Trafficking of canalicular ABC transporters in hepatocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters located in the hepatocyte canalicular membrane of mammalian liver are critical players in bile formation and detoxification.

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Genome-Wide Identification and Expression Pattern of ABC Transporters in Razor Clam (Sinonovacula constricta)

open access: yesProgress in Fishery Sciences
The razor clam (Sinonovacula constricta) is an economically important species and one of China´s four traditional mariculture mollusks. The ABC transporter family is one of the oldest membrane protein families, widespread across prokaryotes and ...

Lipopolysaccharide uptake is augmented in lipopolysaccharide‐tolerant mouse macrophage‐like cells via increased CD14 expression

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In normal (nontolerant) cells, CD14 is crucial for both LPS uptake and LPS signaling. In LPS‐tolerant cells, in which LPS‐induced TNF‐α and IFN‐β production is suppressed, there is a dramatic increase in surface CD14 expression. The overexpressed CD14 in LPS‐tolerant cells is responsible for the enhanced LPS uptake without inducing pro‐inflammatory ...

Genome wide structural prediction of ABC transporter systems in Bacillus subtilis

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
ABC transporters are a diverse superfamily of membrane protein complexes that utilize the binding/hydrolysis of ATP to power substrate movement across biological membranes or perform mechanical work.

Polyimide‐Linked Hexaazatriphenylene‐Based Porous Organic Polymer with Multiple Redox‐Active Sites as a High‐Capacity Organic Cathode for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐capacity polyimide‐linked porous organic polymer (HAT‐PTO) incorporating numerous redox‐active centers is synthesized via a hydrothermal reaction, delivering a high theoretical capacity of 484 mAh g−1. In situ hybridization with carboxyl‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes enhances conductivity and stability, achieving 397 mAh g−1 at C ...

ABC transporters and cholesterol metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
ATP-binding cassette (ABC) proteins form a group of highly conserved cellular transmembrane transporters. Studies over the past year have implicated ABC transporters in cellular lipid trafficking processes.
