Acute Oral Toxicity of Abelmoschus manihot and Wrightia tinctoria in Mice

Abstract Abelmoschus manihot and Wrightia tinctoria, belonging to the botanical family Malvaceae and Apocynaceae, have been traditionally used by the locals in India for treatment of various ailments. The current study reports the outcome of acute oral toxicity investigation of Abelmoschus manihot and Wrightia tinctoria, on ICR mice.

Studies on the Mucilage of the Root of “Tororo-aoi” (Abelmoschus manihot, Medic)

精製粘質物を4%硫酸により100°,15時間加水分解して得た分解生成物に就いてBa, CO2及びラムノース値をそれぞれ定量した結果生成物の大部はラムノース1分子とガラクチュロン酸2分子とより構成される3糖体及びこれの2量体である6糖体よりなり,アルドビウロン酸は存在しないか或は存在するとしても極く少量に過ぎないものと推論される結果を得た. 次いで分解物のアルデヒド基酸化をGoebel法(17)に準拠して実施し,得た酸化物のBa-塩の分析結果より3糖体に就いてはラムノース値が殆んど零となり,かつCO2発生率が高い事,又6糖体に於いてはラムノース値半減し,かつCO2発生率が高い事実より結合様式は3糖体では[GA-GA-R]であって右端ラムノース基に遊離アルデヒド基が存在し,6糖体ではこれの二量体即ち ...
