Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Research on Electrical Contact Characteristics of Brush-Rail Device With Transient Large Current
An excellent electrical contact state is necessary to ensure safe and stable operation of the system. Therein, contact resistance and arc ablation are essential indexes for estimating the contact state. In view of the characteristics of brush-rail device

Differential response of skeletal muscles to mTORC1 signaling during atrophy and hypertrophy [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Skeletal muscle mass is determined by the balance between protein synthesis and degradation. Mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) is a master regulator of protein translation and has been implicated in the control of muscle mass ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Preparation and ablation performance of silica modified phenolic/carbon fiber composite
Aimed at the problem of insufficient heat resistance and poor ablation resistance of phenolic resin (RF), and the compatibility of SiO2 particles with phenolic resin, the nano-scale SiO2/RF hybrid aerogel was prepared by the co-gel method.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
