An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Study on thermal expansion coefficient and absorbing properties of fiber reinforced resin-based absorbing composites

open access: yesComposites Part C: Open Access
In this paper, non-woven fabric and glass fiber fabric were used to prepare resin-based absorbing composite. The thermal expansion coefficient and the microwave absorbing properties of the absorbing composites with different glass fiber volume fraction ...

Active-to-absorbing state phase transition in the presence of fluctuating environments: Weak and strong dynamic scaling

open access: yes, 2012
We investigate the scaling properties of phase transitions between survival and extinction (active-to-absorbing state phase transition, AAPT) in a model, that by itself belongs to the directed percolation (DP) universality class, interacting with a ...

Independent and monochromatic absorbent sets in infinite digraphs

open access: yesAKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics, 2015
AbstractLet D be a digraph, we say that it is an m-coloured digraph if the arcs of D are coloured with at most m-colours. An (u,v) arc is symmetrical if (v,u) is also an arc of D. A directed path (resp. directed cycle) is monochromatic if all of its arcs are coloured with the same colour, and it is quasi-monochromatic if at most one of its arcs is ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Sources of light-absorbing aerosol in arctic snow and their seasonal variation [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2010
Two data sets consisting of measurements of light absorbing aerosols (LAA) in arctic snow together with suites of other corresponding chemical constituents are presented; the first from Siberia, Greenland and near the North Pole obtained in 2008, and the

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

ϕ-2-Absorbing Submodule

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Extension, 2012
Let R be a commutative ring with identity and M be a unitary R-module. A proper submodule N of M is 2− absorbing if r1, r2, r3 ∈ R, m ∈ M with r1r2r3m ∈ M implies r1r2m ∈ N or r1r3m ∈ N or r2r3m ∈ N. Let ϕ : S(M) −→ S(M) ∪ {ø} be a function where S(M)

Response of root system growth to low-light stress in indica rice

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2012
Rice (Oryza sativa L.) as a photophilous crop, often encounters low-light environment during the growth stage in rice-producing areas particularly in Sichuan. Low-light stress seriously affects the morphology, physiology, grain yield and quality of rice.
