pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Tooth Shape Research and Contour Machining of Hirth Coupling

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2015
The hirth coupling is widely used in the centrifugal air compressor unit due to its characteristic of high torque capacity and self centering etc.It is aimed at deriving the accurate calculating formulas of hirth tooth shape,to provide accurate ...

Integrating Optical Draw-In Measurements with Finite Element Analysis for Enhanced Process Insights in Sheet Metal Forming [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
Accurate monitoring of draw-in behaviour during sheet metal forming is crucial for understanding material flow, optimizing process parameters, and validating finite element (FE) simulations.

An Accurate Closed-Form Approximation of the Distributed MIMO Outage Probability

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2011
The mutual information (MI) of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system over Rayleigh fading channel is known to asymptotically follow a normal probability distribution. In this paper, we first prove that the MI of distributed MIMO (DMIMO) system is also asymptotically equivalent to a Gaussian random variable (RV) by deriving its moment generating ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

A new micro scale FE model of crystalline materials in micro forming process

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
Micro forming of metals has drawn global attention due to the increasing requirement of micro metal products. However, the size effects become significant in micro forming processes and affect the application of finite element (FE) simulation of micro ...

A non-invasive node-based form finding approach with discretization-independent target configuration

open access: yesAdvanced Modeling and Simulation in Engineering Sciences, 2018
Form finding is used to optimize the shape of a semi-finished product, i.e. the material configuration in a forming process. The geometry of the semi-finished product is adapted so that the computed spatial configuration corresponds to a prescribed ...

On the free volume in nuclear multifragmentation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
In many statistical multifragmentation models the volume available to the $N$ nonoverlapping fragments forming a given partition is a basic ingredient serving to the simplification of the density of states formula. One therefore needs accurate techniques

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

On the Influence of the Tool Path and Intrusion Depth on the Geometrical Accuracy in Incremental Sheet Forming

open access: yesMetals, 2020
Incremental sheet forming (ISF) is a flexible sheet metal forming process to realize products within short time from design to the first produced part. Although fundamental research on ISF has been carried out around the world, ISF still misses commonly ...
