ACE Inhibitors and Angiotensin II Receptor Antagonists

2005
The biological actions of angiotensin II (ANG), the most prominent hormone of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), may promote the development of atherosclerosis in many ways. ANG aggravates hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and endothelial dysfunction, and thereby constitutes a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The formation of

(+ac,−ac)-trans-Bis(hinokitiolato)copper(II) and its chloroform disolvate

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2009
The complex trans-bis(hinokitiolato)copper(II) [systematic name: trans-bis(3-isopropyl-7-oxocyclohepta-1,3,5-trienolato)copper(II); abbreviated name: trans-Cu(hino)2], [Cu(C10H11O2)2], is a biologically active compound. Three polymorphs of this square-planar monomer, all with (+sp,-sp) isopropyl substituents, have been reported previously.

Comparison of AC Motors to an Ideal Machine Part II—Non-Sinusoidal AC Machines

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2019
This two-part article compares the torque performance of 12 types of ac machines based on the same surface current density, tooth flux density, and rotor dimensions. Part II examines the torque capability of machines more recently developed which utilize the wave shaping capability of a solid-state frequency inverter.

Some equivalents of AC in algebra II

Algebra Universalis, 1998
[For Part I see ibid. 36, No. 4, 564-572 (1996; Zbl 0902.04002).] It is shown that the Axiom of Choice is equivalent to the statement: Any quotient group of any abelian group has a selector. Further, the Multiple Choice Axiom is equivalent to the statement: Any filter in any boolean ring has a well-ordered filterbase.

Ac loss minimum in type II superconductors

Physics Letters A, 1980
Abstract Theoretical predictions with respect to a minimum in the ac losses in type II superconductors are compared with experimental results on Nb-50% Ti and Nb-10% Mo. Extensions of the theory are suggested to explain the deviations.

Tutorial II: AC machines

2010
AC electrical machines can act as generators to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy or motors to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. This chapter discusses synchronous machines, and induction machines. Example problems with solutions as well as actual problems in AC machines were also provided in the end of this chapter.

AC FLUCTUATION CONDUCTIVITY IN TYPE-II SUPERCONDUCTORS

Modern Physics Letters B, 2012
We use the time-dependent Ginzburg–Landau to calculate AC fluctuation conductivity in type-II superconductor in 2D model under magnetic field. Thermal fluctuations are assumed to be strong enough to melt the Abrikosov vortex lattice created by the magnetic field into a vibrating vortex liquid and marginalize the effects of the vortex pinning by ...

ACE gene polymorphism and serum ACE activity in Iranians type II diabetic patients with macroalbuminuria

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 2010
There are controversial results related to the contribution of insertion (I)/deletion (D) polymorphism of the angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) in the development of diabetic nephropathy. To assess the distribution of this polymorphism in diabetic patients with and without nephropathy we studied 140 unrelated type 2 diabetic patients from the ...
