Biosafety Evaluation of 6,7‐Dihydroxy‐3‐(2‐Nitrophenyl)Coumarin in Human Cells

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 198-206, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Coumarins are considered a privileged scaffold in medicinal chemistry, as they may interact with biological macromolecules, presenting several pharmacological properties. Their potential makes them an object of study for the evaluation of their safety for humans, which is essential in the design of a potential drug.

Bisphosphonate‐Modified Polymer‐Coated NaYF4:Yb,Er,Pr Upconverting Nanoparticles for Cell Imaging: Synthesis, Physicochemical Characterization and Biosafety

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Volume 114, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) have attracted much attention in nanomedicine due to their ability to upconvert photons. However, their adverse effects hinder the biomedical applications. In this paper, bisphosphonate‐modified poly(isobutylene‐alt‐maleic acid)‐graft‐poly(N,N‐dimethylacrylamide)‐coated NaYF4:Yb,Er,Pr UCNPs (UCNP@PIMAPDMA ...

Quantitative Analysis of Polymers by MALDI‐TOF Mass Spectrometry: Correlation Between Signal Intensity and Arm Number.

open access: yesJournal of Mass Spectrometry, Volume 61, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The signal intensities of linear and star‐shaped poly(L‐lactides) (PLA) and poly (ethylene oxides) (PEO) were compared to determine the influence of the number of arms on the ionization in matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight (MALDI‐TOF) mass spectrometry. In this study, a variety of blends were prepared and investigated,

Improving the Synthesis of Degradable Cationic Nanogels for Nucleic Acid Delivery

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 227, Issue 1, 15 January 2026.
An improved robust strategy to generate biodegradable, cationic, core‐crosslinked, fully hydrophilic nanogels is presented. The cationic secondary amines of the crosslinker are first converted into hydrophobic Boc‐protected carbamates by a simple one‐pot reaction.
