The use of plant, bacterial and fungal resources in soil food webs of ecto‐ and arbuscular mycorrhiza‐dominated deciduous forests

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Soil food webs, driven by complex interactions among plants, microbes and invertebrates, are crucial for carbon and nutrient cycling in forest ecosystems. Over the last decade, it has become evident that forests dominated by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) or ...

Drastic peatland regime shift and landscape disturbances connected to warm and cold climate events over the past centuries in subarctic Finland

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
Palaeoecological studies reporting long‐term development histories of subarctic fens—explicitly, orohemiarctic peatlands—are scarce, and overall, permafrost‐free peatlands located in the immediate vicinity of permafrost zones have received little attention in Fennoscandia. Here, we use a multiproxy approach to study the millennial‐scale dynamics of two

Multiple developmental origins of the avian propatagial muscle and their evolutionary implications

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Through the analyses on the developmental process of forelimb muscles in the chicken and outgroup taxa, we found that the avian propatagial muscle developed from multiple cell masses derived from parts of the developing forelimb muscles, in association with the hypertrophied dermis along the cranial edge of the developing propatagium.

Simvastatin‐Release Photocurable Hydrogel With Microsphere Delivery System for Improved Dental Applications

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 32, August 20, 2025.
ABSTRACT The development of multifunctional injectable biomaterials that serve as frameworks for tissue neo‐deposition and promote dentin regeneration through resident dental pulp cells represents an innovative approach in regenerative dentistry. This study presents an injectable system based on a photocrosslinkable hydrogel, functionalized with a drug
