Characterization of outer membrane vesicles of Acetobacter pasteurianus NBRC3283
Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering, 2018Acetobacter pasteurianus is characterized as a fermenting bacterium of kurozu, which is a common traditional Japanese black vinegar. Recently, we separated acid-resistant and low Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)-stimulatory lipopolysaccharides (LPS) from A. pasteurianus.

Some properties of restriction endonuclease ApaBI from Acetobacter pasteurianus
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure and Molecular Enzymology, 1993A new site-specific endonuclease has been isolated from Acetobacter pasteurianus and has been named ApaBI. The enzyme recognizes 35 cleavage sites on bacteriophage lambda DNA, 20 sites on adenovirus-2 DNA and 2 sites on plasmid pBR322. The recognition sequence for this enzyme is 3'-CGT/NNNNNACG-5' 5'-GCANNNNN/TGC-3'.

Proteome analysis of Acetobacter pasteurianus during acetic acid fermentation
Journal of Proteomics, 2012Acetic acid bacteria (AAB) are Gram-negative, strictly aerobic microorganisms that show a unique resistance to ethanol (EtOH) and acetic acid (AcH). Members of the Acetobacter and Gluconacetobacter genera are capable of transforming EtOH into AcH via the alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) and aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) enzymes and are used for the ...

Protoplast Formation and Fegeneration in Acetobacter Pasteurianus
American Journal of Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2013Method for production and regeneration of Acetobacter pasterianus protoplasts is described. The protoplasts were obtained by treatment of cells with lysozyme in protoplast buffer at pH 8.0 with different osmotic stabilizers. The protoplasts were regenerated on Acetobacter medium with various osmotic stabilizers.

Cellulose production by Acetobacter pasteurianus on silicone membrane
Journal of Fermentation and Bioengineering, 1996The rate of cellulose production by Acetobacter pasteurianus AP-1SK was about five times higher in a static culture than in stirred or shaken cultures. To increase the rate of production of bacterial cellulose (BC) in static culture further, a system was developed in which cellulose pellicles were formed on an oxygen-permeable synthetic membrane and on

Cloning and Characterization of clpB in Acetobacter pasteurianus NBRC 3283
Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering, 2010The clpB gene in Acetobacter pasteurianus was cloned and characterized. Although the clpB gene was transcribed in response to a temperature shift and exposure to ethanol, the clpB disruption mutant was only affected by high temperature, suggesting that the ClpB protein is closely associated with heat resistance in A. pasteurianus.

Impacts of bioprocess engineering on product formation by Acetobacter pasteurianus
Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2018Aerobic Acetobacter pasteurianus is one of the most widely used bacterial species for acetic acid and vinegar production. The acetic acid condition is the primary challenge to the industrial application of A. pasteurianus. Thus, numerous endeavors, including strain improvement and process control, have been performed to improve the product formation ...

Nucleotide sequence of a small plasmid isolated from Acetobacter pasteurianus
Gene, 1995A 1440-bp plasmid named pAP12875 was isolated from Acetobacter pasteurianus and its nucleotide sequence determined. An open reading frame was found capable of coding for a protein that has similarity with the replication protein of pVT736-1 from Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans and the 32-kDa protein of phage Pf3 from Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Characterization of the Replicon from Plasmid pAC1 from Acetobacter pasteurianus
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1993A panel of recombinant plasmids pACK5 and pACT7 was prepared by introducing kanamycin and tetracycline resistance into the partially split plasmid pAC1 which contained replicon isolated from Acetobacter pasteurianus. The replicon in plasmid pAC1 is compatible with the ColE1 replicon.

Cloning and characterization of grpE in Acetobacter pasteurianus NBRC 3283
Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering, 2010The grpE gene in Acetobacter pasteurianus NBRC 3283 was cloned and characterized, to elucidate the mechanism underlying the resistance of acetic acid bacteria to the stressors existing during acetic acid fermentation. This gene was found to be located in tandem with two related genes, appearing on the genome in the order grpE-dnaK-dnaJ.
