Characterizing epithelial‐mesenchymal transition‐linked heterogeneity in breast cancer circulating tumor cells at a single‐cell level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In over 50% of non‐metastatic breast cancer patients, circulating tumor cells (CTCs) along the whole epithelial‐mesenchymal transition spectrum are detected. Total CTC number and individual phenotypes relate to aggressive disease characteristics, including lymph node involvement and higher tumor proliferation. At the single‐cell level, mesenchymal CTCs

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Phosphate Uptake from Phytate Due to Hyphae-Mediated Phytase Activity by Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Maize

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
Phytate is the most abundant form of soil organic phosphorus (P). Increased P nutrition of arbuscular mycorrhizal plants derived from phytate has been repeatedly reported.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Distribution of Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria and Soil Phosphatase Activity in Different Land Uses

open access: yesمجله آب و خاک, 2016
Introduction: Phosphorous is one of the essential macronutrients for plant growth and development but its mobility in soil is very low. The utilization of the soil biological potential, in particular phosphate solubilizing bacteria, is an efficient way ...

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Electron microscopical and histochemical studies on the transverse striated muscles of birds after prolonged hypokinesis [PDF]

open access: yes
Studies of the gastrocnemius muscle were carried out in 4 month old cockerels of the laying hybrid after hypokinesis lasting 15 and 30 days. It was found that restricted movement resulted in dystrophic changes of myotibrils, enlargement of the ...

Remodeling Of The Bone Tissue Of Rats Of Different Lines After Melatonin Effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The markers of remodeling of bone tissue (BT) were studied after the impact of pharmacologic dose of melatonin (5 mg/kg of the animal body weight) during 28 days for 3-months rats-males of Wistar and SHR lines.
