Acidogenesis and Two‐Phase Codigestion of Fats, Oils, and Greases and Municipal Biosolids

Water Environment Research, 2013
ABSTRACT: Acidogenic codigestion of fats, oils, and greases (FOG) was studied using suspended growth sludge digesters operated as batch fed reactors that were fed twice daily. The digesters were maintained at a 2‐day retention time and at 37 °C to mimic the acid phase of an acid‐gas digestion system. As FOG loading rates increased, volatile fatty acid (

Effect of heavy metals on acidogenesis in anaerobic digestion

Water Research, 1993
The effects of chromium, cadmium, lead, copper, zinc and nickel on volatile fatty acid (VFA) production in anaerobic digestion were studied using serum bottle assays. Glucose acclimated seed sludge was used. The relative toxicity of heavy metals to production of acetic acid (HAc) and n-butyric acid (n-HBu) was Cu > Zn > Cr > Cd > Pb > Ni and Cu > Zn ...

Effects of Ammonia on Acidogenesis of Protein-Rich Organic Wastes

Environmental Engineering Science, 2008
This study investigated the influence of ammonia on mesophilic acidogenesis of protein-rich organic waste, examined at initial ammonia concentration of 0–16 g-N L−1 at a neutral pH. VFA was dominant products from protein's acidogenesis, accounting for 80–90%, compared to lactic acid and alcohols.

Effect of cadmium and nickel on acidogenesis in anaerobic treatment

2020
ÖZET Atıksu arıtımı su kaynaklarının kirlenmesini önlemek ve yeniden kullanımını sağlamak bakımından modern dünyanın önemli bir gereğidir. Anaerobik çürütme az enerji ve kaynak kullanması, metan gazı eldesine olanak vermesi ve az çamur meydana getirmesi nedenleriyle atıksu arıtma alanında birçok uygulama alam bulmuştur.

Zinc and copper inhibition on acidogenesis in anaerobic treatment

2020
Anaerobic treatment of industrial and domestic wastewaters has been a growmgconcern in recent years owing to many advantages. However the problems which rose inthe conventional applications of anaerobic treatment have led the researchers to develop anew technique called as two-phase concept which can basically be defined as theseparation of ...
