Calbindin and calretinin immunoreactivities in the retina of a chondrostean, Acipenser baeri

Cell and Tissue Research, 2002
The distribution of calbindin and calretinin in the retina of the sturgeon Acipenser baeri was studied with immunocytochemistry. Western blot analysis of brain extracts, together with immunocytochemical results in the retina and brain, indicated the presence of the two calcium-binding proteins in sturgeon.

Characterization of xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes in sturgeon (Acipenser baeri)

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1989
1. Cytochrome P-450, NADPH-cytochrome c reductase, benzo(a)-pyrene hydroxylase (AHH), 7-ethoxycoumarin-O-deethylase (7-ECOD), epoxide hydrolase (EH), UDP-glucuronyltransferase (UDPGT) and glutathione S-transferase (GSHST) activities in sturgeon (Acipenser baeri) have been measured and partially characterized. 2. Cytochrome P-450-dependent monoxygenase (

Immunohistochemical investigation of the pituitary of the sturgeon (Acipenser baeri, Chondrostei)

Fish Physiology and Biochemistry, 1988
An immunohistochemical study of the sturgeon (Acipenser baeri) pituitary was undertaken using antisera directed against hormones from various classes of vertebrates, including the only pituitary hormone available from sturgeon, gonadotrophin. A positive reaction was obtained after application of antisera towards the following hormones 1-24 synthetic ...

Characterization of serum immunoglobulins in a chondrostean fish, Acipenser baeri

Developmental & Comparative Immunology, 1993
The euglobulin fraction of sturgeon (Acipenser baeri) serum was analyzed using electrophoretic and immunoblotting techniques. The major protein of this fraction is an IgM-like molecule composed of equimolar 70-kDa glycosylated H chains and 26-30 kDa L chains. In the absence of a reducing agent, the L and H polypeptides may form (mu 2L2)n high molecular
