Actin Interacting Protein1 and Actin Depolymerizing Factor Drive Rapid Actin Dynamics inPhyscomitrella patens  [PDF]

open access: yesThe Plant Cell, 2011
AbstractThe remodeling of actin networks is required for a variety of cellular processes in eukaryotes. In plants, several actin binding proteins have been implicated in remodeling cortical actin filaments (F-actin). However, the extent to which these proteins support F-actin dynamics in planta has not been tested.

Loss of SHP1 in Spinal Astrocytes Triggers T‐Lymphocyte Infiltration and Nociceptive Hypersensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocyte‐specific SHP1 deletion disrupts astrocyte–vascular interactions and compromises BBB integrity while enhancing STAT1‐dependent CXCL10 expression. These changes synergistically promote peripheral CD4+ and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration into the SDH. The infiltrating T cells secrete IFN‐γ, which in turn activates microglia.

Actin-depolymerizing Factor and Cofilin-1 Play Overlapping Roles in Promoting Rapid F-Actin Depolymerization in Mammalian Nonmuscle Cells [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Biology of the Cell, 2005
Actin-depolymerizing factor (ADF)/cofilins are small actin-binding proteins found in all eukaryotes. In vitro, ADF/cofilins promote actin dynamics by depolymerizing and severing actin filaments. However, whether ADF/cofilins contribute to actin dynamics in cells by disassembling “old” actin filaments or by promoting actin filament assembly through ...

Deep Learning‐Driven Discovery and Engineering of an Efficient PETase for Depolymerization and Detoxification of PET Microplastics Under Physiological Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A deep learning–driven pipeline mining 246 million protein sequences uncovers AhPETase, an evolutionarily distinct PET hydrolase. Engineered variant AhPETaseM1 degrades post‐consumer PET microplastics under physiological conditions and reverses microplasticinduced cytotoxicity in human lung and colon cells, establishing enzymatic microplastic ...

Ac‐SDKP modulates apoptosis via HSP27 and the FAS/FASL and mitochondrial axes

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Schematic diagram of Ac‐SDKP regulating the FAS/FASL and mitochondrial apoptosis pathways via HSP27. Ac‐SDKP inhibits HSP27 expression, activates the FAS/FASL pathway and Caspase‐3 signaling, increases Caspase‐8 and Caspase‐3 expression, and induces cell apoptosis.

Engineering and Characterization of a Fluorescent Fission Yeast Arp2/3 Complex for Single Molecule Mechanistic Investigations

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arp2/3 complex is a seven‐component protein complex that facilitates the assembly of branched actin filament networks by binding to pre‐existing “mother” actin filaments and initiating the nucleation of new branched “daughter” filaments. Arp2/3 complex must be activated by a nucleation promoting factor such as the WASP/Scar protein family. The

Blood Biomarkers of Helicobacter pylori‐Infected Chronic Gastritis in Active Versus Stable Phases: A Clinical Indicator Analysis Combined With Proteomic and Metabolomic Investigations

open access: yesiMetaMed, EarlyView.
Combining clinical data with serum proteomics and metabolomics, the HGB–CAPZB–acetic acid model was developed as a potential diagnostic index to distinguish the active and stable stages of Helicobacter pylori‐infected chronic gastritis, and the related mechanism was explored through multi‐omics.
