Active motion is a concept in complex systems theory and was successfully applied to various problems in nonlinear dynamics. Explicit studies for gravitational potentials were missing so far. We interpret the Friedmann equations with cosmological constant as a dynamical system, which can be made "active" in a straightforward way.

Adsorption of Gases by Charcoal—Heat Effect.—The first part of this paper comprises a study of the heat effect on the adsorption of hydrogen and nitrogen by charcoal, and is a continuation of the work of Dr. Harvey B. Lemon1 in which air was used. The charcoal is heated for periods varying from one hour to twenty hours at temperatures from 400° C.

An activity description language for activity recognition [PDF]
Activity recognition aims at recognizing and understanding the movements, actions, and objectives of mobile objects. These objects can be humans, animals, or simple artefacts. Many important and critical applications such as surveillance or health care require some form of (human) activity recognition.

Impaired Fibrinolysis in the Pathogenesis of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever [PDF]
The mechanisms contributing to bleeding complications in dengue hemorrhagic fever were studied by investigating the pattern of activation of the coagulation and fibrinolytic systems in 50 children with severe dengue hemorrhagic fever.
