Predicting Seasonal Deformation Using InSAR and Machine Learning in the Permafrost Regions of the Yangtze River Source Region

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Quantifying seasonal deformation is essential for accurately determining the thickness of the active layer and the distribution of water content within it, providing insights into the freeze‐thaw dynamics of permafrost environments and their sensitivity ...

Covalent Layer-by-Layer Assembly of Redox-Active Polymer Multilayers

open access: yesLangmuir, 2013
Poly(ferrocenyl(3-bromopropyl)methylsilane) and poly(ethylene imine) are employed in a layer-by-layer deposition process to form covalently connected, redox-active multilayer thin films by means of an amine alkylation reaction. The stepwise buildup of these multilayers on silicon, ITO, and quartz substrates was monitored by UV-vis absorption ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Permafrost Table Temperature (2008–2021) in Deception Island, Antarctica

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal
This manuscript presents a comprehensive presentation of ground temperature data collected at 16 nodes of the 121 of the Crater Lake Circumpolar Active Layer Monitoring (CALM) site on Deception Island, Antarctica, from 2008 to early 2022. Each one of the

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Linear disturbances on discontinuous permafrost: implications for thaw-induced changes to land cover and drainage patterns

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2013
Within the zone of discontinuous permafrost, linear disturbances such as winter roads and seismic lines severely alter the hydrology, ecology, and ground thermal regime.

Permafrost cores and active layer pits on Herschel Island: link to shape files

open access: yes, 2016
Twelve permafrost cores and active layer pits were drilled/dug on Herschel Island in order to estimate the soil organic carbon and total nitrogen contents in the first 30, 100 and 200 cm of ground.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

An active, policy based management architecture for multi-service networks. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Future multiservice networks will be extremely large and complex. Novel management solutions will be required to keep the management costs reasonable.
