Fault Detection and Isolation of Actuator Faults in Spacecraft Formation Flight

Proceedings of the 45th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
This paper investigates the development of Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) filters for spacecraft formation flight. A MIMO architecture for formation flying control is considered. By utilizing a geometric FDI methodology, a local/decentralized detection filter is developed for detecting faults in other spacecraft by determining the required ...

Actuator Fault Detection for Vehicle Lateral Dynamics

2018 5th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT), 2018
This paper proposes an actuator fault detection based on unknown input observer for simultaneously state estimation and fault estimation applied to lateral vehicle dynamics. The lateral dynamics is modeled by a linear parameter varying model where the longitudinal velocity is considered as parameter varying.

Fault Estimation Observer Design of Nonlinear Systems with Actuator Faults

2017
This paper introduces a relaxation design of fault estimation observer for some nonlinear dynamical plants by means of the Takagi–Sugeno method. A featured fuzzy fault estimation observer is produced by utilizing the named maximum-priority-based switching law, which is different from these existing ones.

Sensor and Actuator Fault Reconstruction

Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 2004
Many fault detection filters have been developed to detect and identify sensor and actuator faults by using analytical redundancy. An approach to further reconstruct sensor and actuator faults from the residual generated by the fault detection filter is proposed. The transfer matrix from the faults to the residual is derived in terms of the eigenvalues

Smart Actuator Fault Diagnosis

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2000
Abstract The emergence of low-cost microelectronics promotes the integration of different technologies to produce a local autonomous element, such as 'smart' sensors and actuators. Various requirements are needed so as to achieve smartness. One of the most important issues is the integration of self-diagnosis. For the implementation of self-diagnosis,

Fault-tolerance Evaluation of Actuator Fault Configurations

2010
In this chapter, the fault tolerance of a certain actuator fault configuration (AFC) is evaluated within the framework of a linear MPC law with constraints. The issue of fault-tolerance evaluation has already been treated in the literature for an LQR problem without constraints (Staroswiecki, 2003), due to the existence of an analytical solution ...

ROBUST FAULT-TOLERANT CONTROL ARCHITECTURE–ACTUATOR FAULT DETECTION AND RECONFIGURATION

Control and Intelligent Systems, 2010
Summary: Developing a fault-tolerant robust control architecture for a class of nonlinear, non-parameterizable, uncertain systems is investigated. Robust measures are developed to identify faculty actuators that would degrade the performance envelopes. These robust measures are in turn used to design a robust fault-tolerant control law which is capable
