Timely actuator fault diagnosis and accommodation

10th International Multi-Conferences on Systems, Signals & Devices 2013 (SSD13), 2013
This paper deals with the development of a timely integrated scheme of actuator fault diagnosis and accommodation. A predefined time diagnosis is elaborated based on a Finite Time Unknown Input Observer (FTUIO). After a finite time, a precise fault estimation is provided by the FTUIO to the accommodation module based on the Pseudo-Inverse Method PIM. A

Safe Flocking in Spite of Actuator Faults

2010
The safe flocking problem requires a collection of N mobile agents to (a) converge to and maintain an equi-spaced lattice formation, (b) arrive at a destination, and (c) always maintain a minimum safe separation. Safe flocking in Euclidean spaces is a well-studied and difficult coordination problem.

Adaptive fault-tolerant tracking control against actuator faults

2006 American Control Conference, 2006
This paper deals with the problem of flight tracking control against actuator faults based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) method and adaptive method. The type of faults under consideration is loss of actuator effectiveness. An adaptive fault-tolerant flight controller design method is developed based on the on-line estimation of an eventual fault ...

Actuator fault compensation for a helicopter model

Proceedings of 2003 IEEE Conference on Control Applications, 2003. CCA 2003., 2004
A fault-tolerant system is the one that can continue its operation without significant impact on performance in the presence of hardware and/or software errors. In this paper, the design of a fault-tolerant flight controller to control UH-60 helicopter is investigated.

Fault tolerant control of system with simultaneous actuator and sensor faults

2017 International Conference on Control, Automation and Diagnosis (ICCAD), 2017
In this paper, a Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) design is proposed with simultaneous actuator and sensor faults. The main idea of FTC is an automatically compensation of the fault to remain the close-loop stability of system. The proposed approach is composed of two stages.

Simultaneous fault detection and control for switched systems with actuator faults

International Journal of Systems Science, 2015
This paper is concerned with the fault detection and control problem for discrete-time switched systems. The actuator faults, especially ‘outage cases’, are considered. The detector/controller is designed simultaneously such that the closed-loop system switches under an average dwell time, and when a fault is detected, an alarm is generated and then ...

Fault Detection and Isolation of Actuator Faults in Spacecraft Formation Flight

Proceedings of the 45th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
This paper investigates the development of Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) filters for spacecraft formation flight. A MIMO architecture for formation flying control is considered. By utilizing a geometric FDI methodology, a local/decentralized detection filter is developed for detecting faults in other spacecraft by determining the required ...

Sensor and Actuator Fault Reconstruction

Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 2004
Many fault detection filters have been developed to detect and identify sensor and actuator faults by using analytical redundancy. An approach to further reconstruct sensor and actuator faults from the residual generated by the fault detection filter is proposed. The transfer matrix from the faults to the residual is derived in terms of the eigenvalues

Fault Estimation Observer Design of Nonlinear Systems with Actuator Faults

2017
This paper introduces a relaxation design of fault estimation observer for some nonlinear dynamical plants by means of the Takagi–Sugeno method. A featured fuzzy fault estimation observer is produced by utilizing the named maximum-priority-based switching law, which is different from these existing ones.
