Synthesis of Unnatural Aplysiatoxin Analogs with High Affinity for Protein Kinase C

In the course of synthetic study of aplysiatoxin, a potent protein kinase C (PKC) activator, it is serendipitously found that a five‐membered ether 1 obtained as an undesired product from alkyne‐containing macrodiolide 2 with Au catalyst shows a high affinity for PKC.
