Aging Impairs Macrophage Phagocytosis Through Mitochondrial ROS‐Induced Collagen Production

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 6, June 2026.
Aging compromises macrophage phagocytosis via the mitochondrial ROS‐driven overproduction of intracellular collagen. This excess collagen physically binds F‐actin, paralyzing cytoskeletal turnover; however, mtROS scavenging successfully rescues actin dynamics and restores phagocytic capacity.

ADAMTS1 secreted from stromal fibroblasts enhanced cancer cell invasion.

open access: yes, 2012
(A) Sequestration of the ADAMTS1 activity in the conditional medium derived from CAF 199C.P10 using an anti-ADAMTS1 antibody reduced invasion ability of MDA-MB-468 cells (left) and MDA-MB-231 cells (right) in an anti-ADAMTS1 Ab dose-dependent manner. (B)

Enteric Nervous System Damage by Food Contaminants: A Pathway to Neurodegeneration?

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The enteric nervous system (ENS), a key component of the gut–brain axis, has emerged as a critical player in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease (PD). It is the first neural system exposed to food contaminants (FCs)—a diverse group of ubiquitous toxic compounds fortuitously present in food derived from production, processing, storage, or ...

Endocardial Brg1 Represses ADAMTS1 to Maintain the Microenvironment for Myocardial Morphogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
SummaryDeveloping myocardial cells respond to signals from the endocardial layer to form a network of trabeculae that characterize the ventricles of the vertebrate heart.

Maternal Choline Supplementation in a Mouse Model of Down Syndrome and Alzheimer’s Disease Generates Unique Expression Profile Mosaics Within Three Hippocampal Excitatory Neuronal Populations

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 7, 15 April 2026.
Maternal choline supplementation (MCS) is utilized in the Ts65Dn mouse model of Down syndrome (DS) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). At ~6 months of age, laser capture microdissection and single population RNA‐sequencing of three hippocampal neuron populations (CA1 and CA3 pyramidal neurons and dentate gyrus granule cells) were conducted.

ADAMTS1 cleaves aggrecan at multiple sites and is differentially inhibited by metalloproteinase inhibitors

open access: yes, 2002
ADAMTS1 is a secreted protein that belongs to the recently described ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloprotease with thrombospondin repeats) family of proteases. Evaluation of ADAMTS1 catalytic activity on a panel of extracellular matrix proteins showed a

A script to highlight hydrophobicity and charge on protein surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The composition of protein surfaces determines both affinity and specificity of protein-protein interactions. Matching of hydrophobic contacts and charged groups on both sites of the interface are crucial to ensure specificity.

Use of anti–amyloid‐β monoclonal antibodies in persons with Down syndrome Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION The recent development and licensing of anti–amyloid‐β monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of early‐stage Alzheimer's disease have significantly shifted the clinical landscape. However, current use recommendations preclude the administration of these new drugs to persons who have Down syndrome.

Pre-coculture with breast cancer cells increased ADAMTS1 mRNA levels in NAFs.

open access: yes, 2012
(A–C) Quantitative real-time RT-PCR analysis revealed that ADAMTS1 mRNA levels were higher in CAFs than in the corresponding NAFs in ten breast cancer patients (A), and that ADAMTS1 mRNA levels in CAF 199C.P10 and NAF 200N.E4.P3 were higher than in NAF ...

Macrophage-released ADAMTS1 promotes muscle stem cell activation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Coordinated activation of muscle stem cells (known as satellite cells) is critical for postnatal muscle growth and regeneration. The muscle stem cell niche is central for regulating the activation state of satellite cells, but the specific extracellular ...
