Characteristics of communication between modern preschoolers and their peers as a risk factor for the psychological safety of the kindergarten educational environment

open access: yesПсихологическая наука и образование
Context and relevance. The problem of psychological safety has not lost its relevance and acuteness in recent years. One of the important components of a safe educational environment is to ensure the conditions for the realization of the need ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Two-pass decision tree construction for unsupervised adaptation of HMM-based synthesis models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Hidden Markov model (HMM) -based speech synthesis systems possess several advantages over concatenative synthesis systems. One such advantage is the relative ease with which HMM-based systems are adapted to speakers not present in the training dataset ...

Domain Adaptation for Statistical Classifiers

open access: yes, 2011
The most basic assumption used in statistical learning theory is that training data and test data are drawn from the same underlying distribution. Unfortunately, in many applications, the "in-domain" test data is drawn from a distribution that is related,

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Locating QTL Controlling the Yield-Related Traits in Perennial Chinese Rice “Shendao3#

open access: yesAgriculture
Shendao3# (SD3#) exhibits perennial characteristics. Identifying the QTLs underlying the yield-related traits in SD3# provides a theoretical basis for future perennial rice breeding.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

A differential requirement for ciliary transition zone proteins in human and mouse neural progenitor fate specification

open access: yesNature Communications
Studying ciliary genes in the context of the human central nervous system is crucial for understanding the underlying causes of neurodevelopmental ciliopathies.
