GAS THRUST BEARING OF INCREASED BEARING CAPACITY WITH YIELDING BEARING SURFACE

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2010
Basic operation factors of the deformed gas-lubricated thrust bearing with increased bearing capacity are theoretically analysed. It is shown that steady-state operation characteristics of this bearing differ from those of the rigid bearing.

A stereotaxic method for small animals using experimentally determined reference profiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
In bats conventional stereotaxic methods do not yield sufficient positional accuracy to allow reliable recordings and tracer injections in subnuclei of the auditory system. In a newly developed stereotaxic system experimentally measured patterns of skull

Upacicalcet: A Novel Intravenous Calcimimetic Agent for Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis With Secondary Hyperparathyroidism

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication in patients receiving maintenance dialysis, driven by calcium and phosphate metabolism disturbances. Calcimimetics are central to the management of SHPT by enhancing calcium‐sensing receptor sensitivity and reducing parathyroid hormone secretion.

Differential Expression Profile of Chicken Embryo Fibroblast DF-1 Cells Infected with Cell-Adapted Infectious Bursal Disease Virus. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
RNA-Seq was used to unveil the transcriptional profile of DF-1 cells at the early stage of caIBDV infection. Total RNAs were extracted from virus-infected cells at 0, 6 and 12 hpi.

Adjunctive Therapeutic Plasma Exchange in Refractory Adult‐Onset Still's Disease Complicated by Secondary Macrophage Activation Syndrome: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adult‐onset Still's disease (AOSD) complicated by macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) carries substantial mortality. The role of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) remains uncertain. Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with AOSD‐MAS treated with TPE at a single‐center.

MODEL OF STRATIFIED LUBRICATION OF ELASTICALLY DEFORMED RADIAL BEARING

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2014
On the basis of the Navier-Stokes equations for the case of a ‘thin layer’, the continuity equation, Lame equations, and Darcy equation, considering the boundary conditions on the pin and bearing face at the layer interface, a method of generating an ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
