Novel adaptive generalized principal component analysis algorithm based on Hebbian rule

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2020
In order to adaptively estimate the generalized principal component from input signals,a novel generalized principal component analysis algorithm was proposed based on the Hebbian linear neuron model.Since the autocorrelation matrices of the signals were

Experimental Validation of Modified Adaptive Fuzzy Control for Power Quality Improvement

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This study aims to present a modified adaptive fuzzy control (MAFC) for power quality improvement, whereby adaptive fuzzy control with parameter adaptive capability is employed to emulate optimal control.

A Bayesian quantum state tomography along with adaptive frameworks based on linear minimum mean square error criterion

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2023
Quantum state tomography (QST) is essential for characterizing unknown quantum states. Several methods of estimating quantum states already exist and can be classified mainly into three broad classes.

Adaptive estimation of Shannon entropy [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2015
We consider estimating the Shannon entropy of a discrete distribution $P$ from $n$ i.i.d. samples. Recently, Jiao, Venkat, Han, and Weissman, and Wu and Yang constructed approximation theoretic estimators that achieve the minimax $L_2$ rates in estimating entropy.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Recursive estimation o dynamic models using cook's distance, with application to wind energy orecast [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This article proposes an adaptive forgetting factor for the recursive estimation of time varying models. The proposed procedure is based on the Cook's distance of the new observation. It is proven that the proposed procedure encompasses the adaptive ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Adaptive Density Estimation for Generative Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Unsupervised learning of generative models has seen tremendous progress over recent years, in particular due to generative adversarial networks (GANs), variational autoencoders, and flow-based models.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Adaptive resilient control for a class of nonlinear distributed parameter systems with actuator faults

open access: yesSystems Science & Control Engineering
This paper presents a new model-based fault resilient control scheme for a class of nonlinear distributed parameter systems (DPS) represented by parabolic partial differential equations (PDE) in the presence of actuator faults. A Luenberger-like observer
