A Subband Adaptive Equalization Structure

open access: yes, 1999
The potential presence of fractional delays, non-minimum phase parts, and a colouring of the channel output can require adaptive equalizers to adapt very long impulse responses.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Adaptive Filtering for Full-Duplex UWA Systems With Time-Varying Self-Interference Channel

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
To enable full-duplex (FD) in underwater acoustic (UWA) systems, a high level of self-interference cancellation (SIC) is required. This can be achieved by using a combination of SIC methods, including digital SIC.

Improved sigma-delta ultrasound beamformers with adaptive low-pass decimation filters

open access: yes, 2011
Sigma-Delta (Σ-Δ) beamformers have been proposed to reduce hardware complexity of the phased array front-end circuitry in digital ultrasound imaging systems.

Medical image enhancement using threshold decomposition driven adaptive morphological filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
One of the most common degradations in medical images is their poor contrast quality. This suggests the use of contrast enhancement methods as an attempt to modify the intensity distribution of the image.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Measuring Performance Limits of Subband Adaptive Systems

open access: yes, 1998
We discuss a method to measure the convergence limits of general subband adaptive systems due to non-ideal filter banks. Aliasing caused in such filter banks presents a distortion to the subband adaptive system which forms a lower limit for the minimum ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

On Implementation and Design of Filter Banks for Subband Adaptive Systems

open access: yes, 1998
This paper introduces a polyphase implementation and design of an oversampled K-channel generalized DFT (GDFT) filter bank, which can be employed for subband adaptive filtering, and therefore is required to have a low aliasing level in the subband ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...
