On global robust adaptive stabilization for cascaded nonlinear systems
Proceedings of the 2003 American Control Conference, 2003., 2004This paper presents a technical framework utilizing the dissipativity mechanism that gives rise to the solution of the global regulation problem of the cascade-connected systems subject to both dynamic uncertainty and static uncertainty without knowing the bound of the static uncertainty.

Assessment of stability robustness for adaptive controllers
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1983The problem of improving the stability characteristics of discrete-time SISO reduced order adaptive controllers is addressed in this note. A method is proposed to adjust the observer poles of an indirect adaptive scheme in order to ensure stability of the closed-loop system in spite of possible unstructured uncertainties (e.g., process-model order ...

Multiestimation scheme for robust adaptive stabilization of discrete systems
42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37475), 2004A discrete pole placement-based adaptive controller with multiestimation is synthesized for linear time-invariant plants. A high-level switching structure between the various estimation schemes is used to supervise the re-parameterization of the adaptive controller in real time.

A robust video stabilization system by adaptive motion vectors filtering
2008 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo, 2008Digital video stabilization allows to acquire video sequences without disturbing jerkiness, removing unwanted camera movements. In this paper we propose a novel fast video stabilization algorithm based on block matching of local motion vectors. Some of these vectors are properly filtered out by making use of ad-hoc rules taking into account local ...

Robust adaptive control: Conditions for global stability
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1985For the usual adaptive controller design, robustness to unmodeled dynamics was not considered. That is, the plant to be controlled is assumed to be modeled exactly, although the plant parameters for the model are assumed to be unknown. The real plants are often nonlinear and time-varying, and moreover may even be of infinite order. Because of this type

Robust adaptive control: Conditions for local stability
The 23rd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 1984The question is examined of when an adaptive control system is robust to unmodeled dynamics and unknown bounded disturbances. Conditions are presented that ensure the existence of such robustness properties, but only locally; i.e., restrictions are placed on the behavior of signals in the ideal, perfectly tuned adaptive system.
