Fuzzy Adaptive-Sampling Block Compressed Sensing for Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2020
The transmission of high-volume multimedia content (e.g., images) is challenging for a resource-constrained wireless multimedia sensor network (WMSN) due to energy consumption requirements.

Simulation of Adaptive Sampling in Profile Measurement for Structured Surfaces

open access: yes, 2010
Adaptive sampling is a novel sampling design that can redirect sampling effort during a survey in response to the observed values. Its application on surface texture measurement is new, such as working with stylus profilometers.

An Efficient Scheme for Broadband Adaptive Beamforming

open access: yes, 1999
This paper introduces an oversampled subband approach to linearly constrained minimum variance adaptive broadband beamforming. This method is motivated by the considerable reduction in computation over fullband implementation and resulting large ...

Adaptive Sampling for Marine Robotics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Maintaining a healthy ocean is of the utmost importance. Having only a limited set of resources available to study this vast domain requires research and science to focus on more efficient data collection. Determining when and where to sample is, in this

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Decentralised Control of Adaptive Sampling in Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yes, 2009
The efficient allocation of the limited energy resources of a wireless sensor network in a way that maximises the information value of the data collected is a significant research challenge.

Image Space Adaptive Rendering

open access: yes, 2014
In this thesis, we develop an adaptive framework for Monte Carlo rendering, and more specifically for Monte Carlo Path Tracing (MCPT) and its derivatives.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Decentralised Adaptive Sampling of Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yes, 2007
Wireless sensor networks are being deployed in an increasing number and variety of applications. Currently, most of these systems adopt a centralised control mechanism, but this has issues associated with scalability, robustness, and dynamism that often ...
