Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Sub-nyquist sampling techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
A number of novel theoretical methods have been developed in an attempt to analyse data produced by sampling a signal at below the Nyquist rate and the limitations of the approaches have been investigated.

Boosting Graph Contrastive Learning via Adaptive Sampling

open access: yes, 2023
Contrastive learning (CL) is a prominent technique for self-supervised representation learning, which aims to contrast semantically similar (i.e., positive) and dissimilar (i.e., negative) pairs of examples under different augmented views.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

An Improved Algorithm for Indirect Time domain Analysis of Thin Wire Structures

open access: yesJournal of Communications Software and Systems, 2012
The algorithm for an indirect time domain (TD) analysis using arbitrary frequency domain method is presented. In previous work, an optimized version of the indirect timedomain method based on adaptive sampling iterative algorithm used in combination with ...

A survey of potential sampling strategies for measurement of structured surfaces.

open access: yes, 2009
Uniform sampling is the predominant sampling method for surface measuring instruments. However, measurement for structured surfaces brings an increasingly serious conflict between sampling range and small resolution.

Measuring Performance Limits of Subband Adaptive Systems

open access: yes, 1998
We discuss a method to measure the convergence limits of general subband adaptive systems due to non-ideal filter banks. Aliasing caused in such filter banks presents a distortion to the subband adaptive system which forms a lower limit for the minimum ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.
