Discrete‐time adaptive control using a sliding mode [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 1996
Adaptive control using a sliding mode in discrete time systems is proposed as a means of achieving robustness with respect to parameter variations, fast tracking to a desired trajectory, and fast parameter convergence, without increasing the chattering of the control inputs.

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Global robust super-twisting algorithm with adaptive switching gains for a hybrid robot

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2020
To improve the robustness performance of dynamic sliding mode control to the time-varying uncertainties without the upper bound information in a hybrid robot system, a global robust super-twisting algorithm with adaptive switching gains is proposed.

Model-Free Adaptive Sliding Mode Control Method for Unmanned Surface Vehicle Course Control

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2023
A novel data-driven-based adaptive sliding-mode control scheme is proposed for unmanned surface vehicle course control in the presence of disturbances. The proposed method utilizes the model-free adaptive control (MFAC) theory.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Variations in Finite-Time Multi-Surface Sliding Mode Control for Multirotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Payload Delivery with Pendulum Swinging Effects

open access: yesMachines, 2023
Multi-surface sliding mode control addresses the limitations of traditional sliding mode control by employing multiple sliding surfaces to handle uncertainties, disturbances, and nonlinearities.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.
