Adaptive and Robust Fault-Tolerant Tracking Control of Contact force of Pantograph-Catenary for High-Speed Trains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper presents a modified multi-body dynamic model and a linear time-invariant model with actuator faults (loss of effectiveness faults, bias faults) and matched and unmatched uncertainties.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

A sliding-mode-control-based adaptive cruise controller

open access: yes, 2022
This paper presents an alternative solution to the conventional cruise controller of a hybrid electric vehicle based on the sliding mode control approach. The mathematical model of a hybrid electric vehicle cruise control system is developed.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Control of Rabinovich chaotic system using sliding mode control

open access: yes, 2013
This paper investigates the control of the continuous time Rabinovich chaotic system with the sliding mode control method. Based on the properties of the sliding mode theory, the controllers are designed and added to the nonlinear Rabinovich system ...

Study on a Second-Order Adaptive Sliding-Mode Observer Control Algorithm for the Sensorless Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

open access: yes, 2023
The control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) without a position sensor based on a sliding-mode observer (SMO) algorithm has a serious jitter problem in the process of motor phase tracking.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...
