Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity responses and susceptibility influence HIV-1 mother-to-child transmission

open access: yesJCI Insight, 2022
HIV-1 vaccine efforts are primarily directed toward eliciting neutralizing antibodies (nAbs). However, vaccine trials and mother-to-child natural history cohort investigations indicate that antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), not nAbs ...

Machine Learning‐Enhanced Random Matrix Theory Design for Human Immunodeficiency Virus Vaccine Development

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This study integrates random matrix theory (RMT) and principal component analysis (PCA) to improve the identification of correlated regions in HIV protein sequences for vaccine design. PCA validation enhances the reliability of RMT‐derived correlations, particularly in small‐sample, high‐dimensional datasets, enabling more accurate detection of ...

Reconstruction of a polyclonal ADCC antibody repertoire from an HIV-1 non-transmitting mother

open access: yesiScience, 2023
Summary: Human natural history and vaccine studies support a protective role of antibody dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) activity against many infectious diseases.

ADCC potency assay: increased standardization with modified lymphocytes [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Proceedings, 2011
For few years now, the use of monoclonal antibodies represents a significant progress in different therapeutic applications. In addition to commercialization of new products, important efforts in research and development have been made to launch new therapeutic antibodies.

Porcine kidney xenotransplantation: From primate models to clinical reality

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
In the face of a critical shortage of human donor kidneys for end‐stage renal disease patients, porcine kidney xenotransplantation has emerged as a viable solution. This field has navigated major hurdles, including immune rejection, physiological incompatibilities, potential biomechanical differences and the risk of cross‐species infection. To overcome

High antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity responses are correlated with strong CD8 T cell viral suppressive activity but not with B57 status in HIV-1 elite controllers. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The role of Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) responses in HIV-1 controllers is still unclear due to the heterogeneity of these patients.

Efficacy, safety and cost‐effectiveness of CAR‐T therapy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
CAR T‐cells demonstrate high efficacy in blood cancers, including ALL, MM and DLBCL. Innovations target solid tumours despite challenges such as antigen escape. Combination therapies enhance the delivery and infiltration of CAR T cells. Toxicity, cost and resistance remain major barriers to clinical use.

Prognostic Impact of Tumor Stage and Growth Pattern in Sinonasal Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma: A 15‐Year Population‐Based Study

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sinonasal adenoid cystic carcinoma (AdCC) has a limited prognosis. This study assesses its incidence and prognostic factors in The Netherlands, focusing on histopathological features. Methods Adult patients diagnosed during 2008–2022 were retrieved through the Netherlands Cancer Registry and the Dutch Pathology Registry.

Predominance of In‐Field Recurrence After Radiotherapy for Sinonasal Cancer: A Single‐Center Retrospective Study

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sinonasal malignancies (SNM) are rare, heterogeneous tumors with poor prognosis. There is an unmet need to improve treatment outcomes. Despite advances in imaging and molecular classification, optimal curative radiotherapy (RT) strategies remain undefined.

Risk Transmission and Co‐Movements Between Financial Markets and Commodity Markets in the COVID‐19 Period

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines risk transmission and co‐movements between financial markets (G7 countries and China) and commodity markets (gold and oil) during the COVID‐19 crisis. Daily closing prices for major equity indices (CAC40, CSI300, DAX30, FTSE100, MIB, NIKKEI, TSX and S&P500) and futures prices for gold, brent and WTI were analysed using DCC ...
