Analysis of Added Resistance in Short Waves

In this study, the added resistance of ships in short waves is systematically studied by using two different numerical methods - Rankine panel method and Cartesian grid method - and existing asymptotic and empirical formulae. Analysis of added resistance in short waves has been preconceived as a shortcoming of numerical computation.
