Kinetic Studies of Adenine Phosphoribosyltransferase
Abstract The mechanism of reaction of adenine phosphoribosyl-transferase from Ehrlich ascites tumor cells was investigated kinetically by initial velocity and product inhibition studies. The data are consistent with a mechanism in which 5-phosphoribosylpyrophosphate reacts with the enzyme to form an intermediate, presumably an enzyme-ribose 5-phosphate

To establish a mouse model of weak depression, we raised 6-week-old C57BL/6N mice in single (SH) or group housing (GH) conditions for 2 weeks. The SH group showed less social interaction with stranger mice, learning disability in behavioral tests, and ...

This study shows that lower NAM levels in PE‐derived pEVs correlate with disease severity. NAM‐deficient pEVs reduce Th1 and Th17 inhibition, leading to PE‐like symptoms. NAM in pEVs inhibits Th1 via SIRT1 and Th17 via macrophages. Reduced NAM in PE‐EVs is due to decreased HRS expression in trophoblasts, resulting from elevated HSP27.

The Efficacy of Risk Factor Modification Compared to NAD+ Repletion in Diastolic Heart Failure
Summary: Heart failure (HF) with left ventricular diastolic dysfunction is a growing global concern. This study evaluated myocardial oxidized nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) levels in human systolic and diastolic HF and in a murine model of HF ...

AMPK can activate nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT), increasing the ratio of oxidized nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+)/reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) ratio, leading to the activation of the energy receptor SIRT1 ...

Abstract Chronic pain, marked by nociceptive sensitization and maladaptive neuroplasticity, affects 30% of the global population with escalating socioeconomic burdens. Epidemiological data show a 2‐3‐fold increase in neuropsychiatric co‐morbidities among individuals with chronic pain, where epigenetic dysregulation serves as a key mechanism linking ...

ObjectiveAging is associated with decreased nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) levels, which in turn cause dysfunctional mitochondria and indirectly affect a myriad of diseases. Intracellular nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (iNAMPT) serves as

Melatonin and the Dental Pulp: A Scoping Review
ABSTRACT Background In general medicine, melatonin is known to enhance wound healing and promote stem cell differentiation. Its potential relevance in endodontics, however, remains underexplored. Objectives This scoping review aimed to systematically assess the available evidence on the effects of melatonin (a) on dental pulp tissue and (b) on human ...
