Yeast Phosphoramidate-Adenosine Diphosphate Phosphotransferase

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1968
Abstract An enzyme, phosphoramidate-ADP phosphotransferase, has been isolated from dried bakers' yeast. We have previously shown that phosphoramide, N-phosphorylglycine, and N-phosphohistidine can act as phosphate donors. Phosphoiodohistidine was shown also to function as a phosphate donor and the enzyme was stereospecific for the l form of this ...

Adenosine diphosphate glucose and starch synthesis [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1961
Received Septenber 19, 1961 In previous papers (Fekete et al., 1960; Leloir et al., 1961) an enzyme was described which catalyzes glucose transfer from uridine diphoaphate glucose (UD?G) to starch or oligosaccharides. Several synthetic nucleoside diphosphate sugars have now been tested with the same enzyme preparation.

Extracellular ATP released by osteoblasts is a key local inhibitor of bone mineralisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Previous studies have shown that exogenous ATP (>1µM) prevents bone formation in vitro by blocking mineralisation of the collagenous matrix. This effect is thought to be mediated via both P2 receptor-dependent pathways and a receptor-independent ...

Mulching with plastic film improved the root quality of summer-sown sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L). Lam.) in northern China

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2019
The root quality of sweet potato cultivated during the summer season is poor in northern China; thus, this study was conducted to determine whether root quality could be improved through mulching with plastic film (MPF).

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Phosphoproteins and protein-kinase activity in isolated envelopes of pea (Pisum sativum L.) chloroplasts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
A protein kinase was found in envelope membranes of purified pea (Pisum sativum L.) chloroplasts. Separation of the two envelope membranes showed that most of the enzyme activity was localized in the outer envelope.

Potentiation of thrombus instability: a contributory mechanism to the effectiveness of antithrombotic medications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
© The Author(s) 2018The stability of an arterial thrombus, determined by its structure and ability to resist endogenous fibrinolysis, is a major determinant of the extent of infarction that results from coronary or cerebrovascular thrombosis.

Nucleotides: Structure and Properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Nucleotides consist of a nitrogen-containing base, a five-carbon sugar, and one or more phosphate groups. Cells contain many types of nucleotides, which play a central role in a wide variety of cellular processes, including metabolic regulation and the ...
