Hepatic ENTPD5 Is Critical for Maintaining Metabolic Homeostasis and Promoting Brown Adipose Tissue Thermogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ENTPD5‐mediated conversion of extracellular adenosine triphosphate to ADP of hepatocytes is critical for maintaining hepatic glucose/lipid metabolism and promoting brown adipose tissue thermogenesis via the inhibition of adrenomedullin expression and secretion.

A Two‐Component Pseudo‐Icosahedral Protein Nanocompartment with Variable Shell Composition and Irregular Tiling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The structure and assembly principles of a two‐component encapsulin nanocompartment shell are reported. The two‐component protein compartment self‐assembles from two distinct HK97‐fold shell proteins into a pseudo‐icosahedral protein shell with variable composition and irregular tiling.

GHSR‐Foxo1 Signaling in Macrophages Promotes Liver Fibrosis via Inflammatory Response and Hepatic Stellate Cell Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Macrophage GHSR‐Foxo1 axis regulates CCl4‐induced liver fibrosis by promoting inflammation and TGF‐β1‐mediated HSC activation. GHSR activates PKA‐dependent phosphorylation of Foxo1 at serine 273, promoting macrophage pro‐inflammatory polarization to enhance the production of pro‐inflammatory cytokines that damage hepatocytes, thereby inducing liver ...

A Longitudinal Study Reveals Metabolomic Markers for Individuals at Risk, Disease Severity, and Treatment Response in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates plasma metabolomic biomarkers for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) development using longitudinal data from 209 RA patients and 56 individuals at risk. It also reveals metabolic signatures linked to severity, age, sex, and anti‐citrullinated protein autoantibody in RA.

Cyclic adenosine monophosphate is a key component of regulatory T cell–mediated suppression

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 2007
Naturally occurring regulatory T cells (T reg cells) are a thymus-derived subset of T cells, which are crucial for the maintenance of peripheral tolerance by controlling potentially autoreactive T cells.

API5 Phosphorylation Promotes Antiviral Immunity by Inhibiting Degradation of Cytosolic RNA Sensor RLRs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ubiquitin‐mediated selective autophagy plays a critical role in antiviral innate immunity. The study shows that upon RNA virus infection, cytoplasmic API5 undergoes SRPK1‐dependent phosphorylation at S464, which in turn suppresses p62 K141 ubiquitination‐dependent autophagy.

AS160 Associates with the Na+,K+-ATPase and Mediates the Adenosine Monophosphate-stimulated Protein Kinase-dependent Regulation of Sodium Pump Surface Expression

open access: yesMolecular Biology of the Cell, 2010
The sodium pump interacts with AS160, a protein that regulates the trafficking of the GLUT4 glucose transporter. This interaction drives the internalization of the sodium pump from the cell surface, and this process is in turn controlled by the energy ...

Inhibition of AMPKα Pathway by Podocyte GOLM1 Exacerbates Diabetic Nephrology in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Podocyte Golgi membrane protein 1 interacts with epidermal growth factor receptor to inhibit peroxisome proliferator activated receptor γ, and then inactivates adenosine monophosphate activated protein kinase α pathway, which facilitates diabetes‐related inflammation, oxidative damage, apoptosis, and renal dysfunction.

A Herbal‐Piezoelectric Heterojunction Strategy to Potentiate Bacterial Cuproptosis‐Like Death and Remodel the Inflammatory Microenvironment in Infection‐Associated Implant Osteomyelitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A titanium implant coating integrating berberine and copper‐doped strontium titanate leverages ultrasound to compromise bacterial membranes and induce cuproptosis‐like death. This approach resolves S. aureus infections in osteomyelitis models while suppressing inflammation and promoting osseointegration, demonstrating a dual‐functional strategy against
