TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Polymerization Shrinkage with Light-Initiated Dental Composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The present work addressed the determination and visualization of the direction and extent of polymerization shrinkage in the light-initiated composite. Hypotheses about the light-cured composite contraction patterns are controversial.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Optimisation of interfacial bond strength of glass fibre endodontic post systems.

open access: yes, 2011
MPhilCurrently endodontically treated teeth are clinically restored using a post and crown system, where the elastic modulus of the post is similar to dentine.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Adhesion Properties between Polyvinyl Acetate Dispersion and Ammonia Modified Oak Wood

open access: yesMedžiagotyra, 2013
It is known that PVA dispersion exhibits very good adhesion with natural wood. However, still remains unclear what adhesion-related changes occur, when the outside factor, i. e.

Proteomic dataset of the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus adhesive organs and secreted adhesive

open access: yes, 2016
Sea urchins have specialized adhesive organs called tube feet, which mediate strong but reversible adhesion. Tube feet are composed by a disc, producing adhesive and de-adhesive secretions for substratum attachment, and a stem for movement.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Effect of Gondorukem (Arpus) Adhesive Composition on Organic Waste-Based Briquettes using Biodrying Technology

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemical Analysis
Briquettes are an alternative to coal, wood, and fossil fuels. Briquettes can be made with simple, inexpensive materials. The adhesive is gondorukem (arpus), which is easy to find.
