Combination adjuvants: the next generation of adjuvants?
Adjuvants are critical components of many vaccines. The majority of existing vaccines contain a single adjuvant. Owing to their inherent limitations, no single adjuvant is capable of inducing all the protective immune responses required in the many different vaccines.

Unconventional Antibacterials and Adjuvants
The need for new classes of antibacterials is genuine in light of the dearth of clinical options for the treatment of bacterial infections. The prodigious discoveries of antibiotics during the 1940s to 1970s, a period wistfully referred to as the Golden Age of Antibiotics, have not kept up in the face of emergence of resistant bacteria in the past few ...

Non‐thermal plasma treatment of melanoma cells induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a dose‐dependent fashion. This report highlights the critical need to further investigate potential adverse effects of non‐thermal plasma for cancer therapy and to optimize treatment parameters for clinical translation. Despite the promising results of non‐

Vaccine adjuvants for immunotherapy: type, mechanisms and clinical applications
Immunotherapy has emerged as a powerful approach in treating various diseases, yet its success often hinges on the efficacy of adjuvants, agents that boost immune responses to therapeutic targets.

Neo-adjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy of gastric cancer
Gastric cancer is still a major health problem and a leading cause of cancer mortality despite a worldwide decline in incidence. Surgery is the primary curative treatment of locoregional gastric cancer. In Western countries, however, at the time of resection, most patients are expected to have regional lymph node involvement with poor prognostic ...

Trastuzumab‐deruxtecan, a HER2‐targeting antibody‐drug conjugate, shows promising antitumor activity in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with low HER2 expression. In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated dose‐dependent cell death and tumor growth reduction in low HER2‐expressing cell lines, which correlated with drug accumulation measured using a

Genomics‐led approach to drug testing in models of undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma
GA text Genomic data from undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma patients and preclinical models were used to inform a targeted drug screen. Selected compounds were tested in 2D and 3D cultures of UPS cell lines. A combination of trametinib and infigratinib was synergistic in the majority of UPS cell lines tested, which was further confirmed in an ex ...

Alum adjuvant: some of the tricks of the oldest adjuvant
Alum has been the most widely used adjuvant for over 80 years. Although there have been searches for alternative adjuvants, aluminium-containing adjuvants will continue to be used for many years due to their good track record of safety, low cost and adjuvanticity with a variety of antigens.
