Sympathectomy augments adoptively transferred experimental allergic encephalomyelitis
Journal of Neuroimmunology, 1992Adoptively transferred experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE) was significantly augmented in Lewis rats with ablated sympathetic nervous system. Sympathectomy was obtained by treatment of newborn rats with 6-hydroxydopamine. Sham-injected rats were used as a control.

Publisher Summary This chapter describes adoptive transfer as the transfer of immunity from one animal to another by live, immunocompetent cells as opposed to immune serum or preformed antibody. It explores that the principle of adoptive transfer showed delayed-type hypersensitivity to picryl chloride could be transferred from sensitized to normal ...

Transiently redirected T cells for adoptive transfer
Cytotherapy, 2011T cells can be redirected to reject cancer by retroviral transduction with a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) or by administration of a bispecific T cell engager (BiTE). We demonstrate that transfection of T cells with messenger (m) RNA coding for CAR is an alternative strategy. We describe the pre-clinical evaluation of a method based on transient ...

Adoptive T‐cell transfer in cancer immunotherapy
Immunology & Cell Biology, 2006Adoptive T‐cell therapy has definite clinical benefit in relapsed leukaemia after allogeneic transplant and in Epstein–Barr virus‐associated post‐transplant lymphoproliferative disease. However, the majority of tumour targets are weakly immunogenic self‐antigens and success has been limited in part by inadequate persistence and expansion of transferred

[Adoptive transfer of T lymphocytes].
Transfusion clinique et biologique : journal de la Societe francaise de transfusion sanguine, 2018Within a few years, the success of treatments based on the use of T-cells armed with a chimeric T-receptor for the CD19 molecule (CAR-T CD19) has revolutionized the perception of adoptive transfer approaches. The levels of responses observed in acute leukemias, of the order of 70-90 % are indeed unprecedented.

Adoptive Tolerance; Transfer of the Tolerant State
The Journal of Immunology, 1963Summary Lymphoid cells from tolerant mice can be successfully transferred to a new environment without affecting their tolerant behavior. In such transfer, both the original host and donor cells are transferred, with the establishment of a chimeric state in the irradiated recipients.
