Receptor-mediated enhancement of beta adrenergic drug activity by ascorbate in vitro and in vivo. [PDF]
RATIONALE: Previous in vitro research demonstrated that ascorbate enhances potency and duration of activity of agonists binding to alpha 1 adrenergic and histamine receptors.

Adrenergic effects on hypothalamic activity: Alpha and beta agonists and antagonists [PDF]
Dose-response curves were plotted to analyze the effects of adrenergic agonists and antagonists upon neural activity within the hypothalamus. Multiple unit activity (MUA) was recorded following microinjection of the drugs directly into the recording site through a hollow recording electrode.

Welfare traits of cattle castrated immunologically and fed beta-adrenergic agonists [PDF]
Objective This work was carried out to evaluate the effects of zilpaterol hydrochloride (ZH) and ractopamine hydrochloride (RH) combined with immunocastration on the welfare traits of feedlot Nellore cattle. Methods Ninety-six Nellore males (average body

Functional alteration of the beta-adrenergic receptor during desensitization of mammalian adenylate cyclase by beta-agonists. [PDF]
Exposure of several mammalian cell lines to isoproterenol resulted in a desensitization of the beta-adrenergic receptor-adenylate cyclase system in membranes isolated from the cells. Under the experimental conditions chosen, desensitization was accompanied by a minimal loss of beta-receptors.

Abstract Asthma involves chronic airway inflammation and airway smooth muscle (ASM) cell contraction. Treatment include agonists of the beta 2-AR, a GPCR that induces the Gs/cAMP pathway leading to ASM relaxation. These agonists can also promote severe side effects which have been correlated with beta-arrestins (barr) activation ...

Adrenergic systems regulate both cognitive function and immune function. The primary source of adrenergic signaling in the brain is norepinephrine (NE) neurons of the locus coeruleus (LC), which are vulnerable to age-related degeneration and are one of ...
