Plasma adrenomedullin level is related to plasma interleukin-6 and a polymorphism in the adrenomedullin gene

open access: yes, 2011
INTRODUCTION: Adrenomedullin is involved in inflammation and like interleukin-6 (IL-6) and C-reactive protein (CRP), is a good biomarker of cardiovascular risk.

Mechanisms of Thrombocytosis in Iron‐Deficiency Anemia

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Iron‐deficiency anemia is frequently accompanied by reactive thrombocytosis, yet the mechanisms underlying this association remain incompletely understood. Beyond impaired erythropoiesis, iron availability has emerged as an active regulator of hematopoietic lineage decisions.

TRIM32 controls timely cell cycle exit in muscular differentiation through downregulation of c‐Myc mRNA

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Trim32 regulates the transition from proliferation to differentiation in C2C12 cells after myogenic induction. We found that, at the onset of differentiation, Trim32 destabilizes c‐Myc mRNA, promotes cell cycle exit, and enables normal myotube formation.

Inflammation: Complexity and significance of cellular and molecular responses

open access: yesJournal of Acute Disease
Inflammation is a multifaceted cellular and molecular response triggered by injury, infection, or various pathological conditions. Serving as a protective defense mechanism, the inflammatory response involves clinical signs like redness, swelling, pain ...

Plasma bio-adrenomedullin is a marker of acute heart failure severity in patients with acute coronary syndrome

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology: Heart & Vasculature, 2019
Background: The assessment of acute heart failure (AHF) in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is challenging. This study tested whether measuring plasma adrenomedullin in patients admitted for ACS provides valuable information regarding the ...

Inflammatory and Immunological Basis of Periodontal Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
The periodontal lesion emerges as an evolving immunological battlefield, where host–microbiome interactions, dysregulated immune responses, fragile resolution mechanisms, and inflammophilic dysbiosis converge to shift the balance from homeostasis to unrestrained tissue destruction.

Adrenomedullin is not Related to Acute Hypoxic Pulmonary Vascular Response in Patients with Chronic Respiratory Disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In the present study, acute hypoxia was induced in 19 patients with chronic respiratory disease to evaluate the corre lation between pulmonary circulation kinetics and adrenomedullin (AM) levels.

Influence of labor on fetoplacental adrenomedullin concentrations

open access: yes, 2001
OBJECTIVE: Circulating adrenomedullin is increased in pregnancy, and placental and fetal membranes participate significantly in its secretion. Recent studies have suggested a potential role for this peptide in the regulation of fetoplacental circulation ...

The pharmacology of gepants in migraine: A scoping review on mechanisms, clinical applications, and combination strategies

open access: yesHeadache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, Volume 66, Issue 7, Page 1628-1643, July/August 2026.
Abstract Background Calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP) is a key mediator in migraine pathophysiology, and the development of gepants, novel CGRP receptor antagonists, has expanded therapeutic options for both acute and preventive treatment. This scoping review aims to synthesize current evidence on the pharmacology, clinical applications, safety ...
