Efficient aerodynamic shape optimization by using unsupervised manifold learning to filter geometric features

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics
Many aerodynamic shape optimization methods often focus on utilizing the end-to-end relationship between design variables and aerodynamic performance to find the optimal design, while overlooking the exploration of geometric knowledge of the shape itself.

Simulating wind turbine interactions using the vorticity transport equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The aerodynamic interactions that can occur within a wind farm result in the constituent turbines generating a lower power output than would be possible if each of the turbines were operated in isolation.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Performance and loads data from a hover test of a 0.658-scale V-22 rotor and wing [PDF]

open access: yes
A hover test of a 0.658-scale model of a V-22 rotor and wing was conducted at the Outdoor Aerodynamic Research Facility at Ames Research Center. The primary objectives of the test were to obtain accurate measurements of the hover performance of the rotor

Quantification of airfoil geometry-induced aerodynamic uncertainties - comparison of approaches

open access: yes, 2016
Uncertainty quantification in aerodynamic simulations calls for efficient numerical methods since it is computationally expensive, especially for the uncertainties caused by random geometry variations which involve a large number of variables. This paper
