Abstract Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) contamination of aquaculture feed poses serious health risks to fish and consumers. In this study, the efficacy of a novel anti‐mycotoxin agent specific for aquatic species (AM‐AQ) containing bentonite, sepiolite, and orange peel meal (Citrus Sinensis) in alleviating AFB1 toxicity in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) was

Steatorrhea During Aflatoxicosis in Chickens , ,
Graded levels of dietary aflatoxin (0, .625, 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10 microgram/g) were tested for their effect on lipid excretion in feces of young broiler chickens. There was a highly significant (P less than .01) increase at 1.25 microgram/g and above including a threefold increase at 10 microgram/g, while growth rate was decreased only at levels of 2.5 ...

Use of Cold Plasma for Phytosanitation and Decontamination of Food Products: A Review
Applications of cold plasma in food industry. ABSTRACT Consumers are increasingly demanding healthy and nutrient‐rich food. Although conventional thermal processing techniques (pasteurization, sterilization, and blanching) ensure food safety and extend shelf life, they often negatively impact nutritional value and sensory quality, and they also consume

Aflatoxicosis in the Broiler Chicken ,
Abstract INTRODUCTION THE aflatoxins are a group of hepatotoxic compounds produced by the mold Aspergillus flavus when growing on feedstuffs. They first discovered in 1960 as a result of turkey “X” disease which was responsible for the deaths of over 100,000 turkey poults.

Field cases of aflatoxicosis in pigs [PDF]
SUMMARY Five cases of aflatoxicosis in pigs in southern Queensland are described. One peracute case where aflatoxin concentrations of up to 5000μg aflatoxin B1/kg were demonstrated in stomach contents was presumed to be caused by consumption of mouldy bread. High levels of toxins were also present in the livers.

BPA exposure in rats and HUVECs impaired aortic contractility, increased lipid peroxidation, ROS, NO, VCAM‑1, and p‑eNOS, and blunted relaxant responses. Co‑treatment with NSO or TQ restored KCl/PE‑induced contractions, enhanced ACh‑ and SNP‑mediated vasorelaxation, and lowered oxidative/nitrosative stress and adhesion molecule expression.

Aflatoxicosis in a canine associated with consumption of contaminated food - case report [PDF]
Aflatoxins are mycotoxins produced by fungi that cause severe poisoning, mainly affecting the liver. Aflatoxicosis is rarely reported in dogs, but this species is extremely sensitive.
