Ag-Nanoinclusion-Induced Enhanced Thermoelectric Properties of Ag2S

open access: yes, 2019
The effects of Ag nanoinclusions on thermoelectric properties of Ag2S semiconducting nanostructures, synthesized by a novel one-pot facile polyol method, have been investigated.

Combination of Selective Immunoassays and Mass Spectrometry to Characterize Preproghrelin-Derived Peptides in Mouse Tissues

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2017
Preproghrelin is a prohormone producing several preproghrelin-derived peptides with structural and functional heterogeneity: acyl ghrelin (AG), desacyl ghrelin (DAG), and obestatin.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

P7.13 THE P22PHOX -640A/G POLYMORPHISM OF NADPH OXIDASE ADVERSELY AFFECTS ENDOTHELIN LEVELS BUT NOT PERIPHERAL AND CENTRAL PRESSURES IN HEALTHY, YOUNG, NORMOTENSIVE INDIVIDUALS

open access: yesArtery Research, 2009
Purpose: The NADPH oxidase system produces superoxide in the vessel wall and its -640A/G polymorphism is associated with coronary artery disease incidence in young individuals. We investigated the role of this polymorphism on peripheral/aortic pressures (

Ag-NOR counting for differentiation of follicular thyroid tumours.

open access: yesPathologica, 1995
According to the histological typing system of thyroid tumours adapted by the World Health Organisation follicular tumours are classified as follicular adenomas and follicular carcinomas. The most important diagnostic criterion for follicular carcinoma is the evidence of vascular and/or capsular infiltration.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Thermal stability of Ag Films with Various Interface Layers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The effects of Pd, Ni, Nb, and Ti interface layers on the thermal stability of Ag films were investigated, and those metals that are appropriate for the interface layers were summarized.

[The diagnostic value of Ag-NOR technique in colorectal cancer].

open access: yesArquivos de gastroenterologia, 1999
The Ag-NOR technique has been applied to many tissues in order to evaluate proliferative lesions. In colorectal mucosa dots counting is not reliable, but the analysis of their shape can be very useful for diagnosis. We applied the Ag-NOR technique to 71 smears of colorectal mucosa, classified in three groups according to the histopathologic diagnosis ...

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.
