Investigating Single-Molecule Molecular Inversion Probes for Medium-Scale Targeted DNA Methylation Analysis

open access: yesEpigenomes
Background: Epigenetic biomarkers, particularly CpG methylation, are increasingly employed in clinical and forensic settings. However, we still lack a cost-effective, sensitive, medium-scale method for the analysis of hundreds to thousands of user ...

Bone Age Calculation Prediction

open access: yesINTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT
ABSTRACT Bone age assessment is vital in pediatric healthcare for evaluating growth and maturity. This paper presents an automated bone age prediction system using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) combined with linear regression. Left-hand radiographs were pre-processed and analysed using CNNs to extract features, followed by regression for ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Association of Model-Predicted Epigenetic Age and Female Infertility

open access: yesEpigenomes
Background: To date, there are no precise clinical and laboratory methods to accurately predict the onset of fertility decline in women, with chronological age being the ultimate predictor.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Pyramid Population Prediction using Age Structure Model

open access: yesCauchy: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Aplikasi, 2020
Population composition in a country by sex and age-structure often illustrated through the Population Pyramid. In this study, an age-structure model will be constructed to predict the population pyramid shape in the coming year.

Space shuttle nonmetallic materials age life prediction [PDF]

open access: yes
The chemiluminescence from samples of polybutadiene, Viton, Teflon, Silicone, PL 731 Adhesive, and SP 296 Boron-Epoxy composite was measured at temperatures from 25 to 150 C. Excellent correlations were obtained between chemiluminescence and temperature.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
