Wear And Aging Of Peek, Zirconia, And Co-Cr Crowns

open access: yesInternational Dental Journal
Aim or purpose: To compare the wear resistance, fracture resistance before and after aging, and displacement resistance of full crowns made from PEEK, cobalt-chromium alloy, and zirconia, providing a theoretical basis for PEEK’s application in crown ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Effect of thermal aging conditions on the corrosion properties and hardness of a duplex stainless steel

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2010
The corrosion properties of a 22.5 wt. (%) Cr duplex stainless steel were investigated after long-term aging of 3000, 5000 and 7000 hours at 300 and 400 ºC. The corrosion resistance was measured based on mass loss in a FeCl3 10 wt.

Age of No Resistance

open access: yes
Contemporary societies increasingly organize human life around the systematic reduction of discomfort. Across technology, ethics, healthcare, and governance, resistance is treated as a design flaw to be minimized rather than as a constitutive condition of human existence.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Defining anabolic resistance: Implications for delivery of clinical care nutrition

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose of review Skeletal muscle mass with aging, during critical care, and following critical care is a determinant of quality of life and survival. In this review, we discuss the mechanisms that underpin skeletal muscle atrophy and recommendations to ...

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Changes in macroautophagy, chaperone-mediated autophagy, and mitochondrial metabolism in murine skeletal and cardiac muscle during aging

open access: yes, 2017
Aging causes a general decline in cellular metabolic activity, and function in different tissues and whole body homeostasis. However, the understanding about the metabolomic and autophagy changes in skeletal muscle and heart during aging is still limited.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Aging Resistance Evaluation of an Asphalt Mixture Modified with Zinc Oxide

open access: yesInfrastructures
The phenomenon of the oxidation and aging of asphalt binders affects the strength and durability of asphalt mixtures in pavements. Several studies are trying to improve the resistance to this phenomenon by modifying the properties of the binders with ...
